In Monaco, architecture is a regulated profession: any project affecting the structure or the external appearance of a building falls to an architect. Interior architects and interior decorators design the layout and the atmosphere of an interior. A renovation company carries out the work. Ars Dekor is not an architectural practice: we design interior layouts and decoration, and we carry them out.

Do you need an architect to renovate an apartment in Monaco?
It depends on the work. As long as the structure, the façades and the common parts are left untouched, an interior renovation is generally a matter for a renovation company, within the building’s regulations. Beyond that, an architect is required. We will tell you at the first visit.
Who is responsible for the work if I use an interior architect?
The company that carries out the work is responsible for it. When the same firm designs and builds, as Ars Dekor does, a single point of contact answers for everything.
